By Bobby-Tariq Tutoring Center | Updated on January 17, 2020
While it might be the least likely specialized high school to be ranked for its location on Staten Island, Staten Island Technical High School is one of the most prestigious all of the specialized high schools. Students gain entrance by taking the Specialized High School Admission Test (SHSAT) and must gain a cutoff score of 527, making it the second hardest specialized high school to get in to. For ninth graders, a cutoff range of 557-567 is necessary for admission. Each year, about 300 seats are offered for ninth graders and 4 seats are offered for tenth graders. This means that there is an acceptance rate of 1% for ninth grade seats and 0.13% for tenth grade seats.

These odds are quite small, but nothing is impossible with the right combination of work ethic and practice, students will be able to get into this elite school. So how do you get into Staten Island Tech and why should you even go there? We have the answers! Keep reading to learn more.
