Acceptance Rate and Cutoff Scores
These scores are a guide for where you need to be if you hope to attend Bronx Science. Every exam season, about 730 of 30,000 hopeful students are admitted to Bronx Science, meaning that the acceptance rate is about 2.43%, even slimmer than that of Stuyvesant High School. Students can also take the SHSAT in ninth grade to compete for 3 seats. 3,000 students taking the ninth grade exam compete for just those 3 seats, making the acceptance rate 0.1%. The numbers might not sound like they are in your favor, but they are – with the right amount of hard work and perseverance, you could easily be one of these lucky students
These courses can’t be found at many other high schools, but the level of academic rigor at Bronx Science isn’t comparable to other New York City public high schools. There are also many language courses, such as French, Italian, Japanese, Latin, Mandarin, and Spanish.
